Day 22: Guide to making smoothies

You all know how I feel about smoothies.  I love them.  Today I made a morning and afternoon version.  And today I found this very helpful and adorable guide to smoothies by Alexis Kornblum of Lexiscleankitchen.com.  I had to share it with you.  At a glance you can see exactly what to use and how to put together the perfect smoothie for you.  Remember, have fun and be creative.  And please tell us your favorite combinations in the comments below.

  1. Here are a few of my favorite smoothies:
    -The choc-full chocolate surprise smoothie from The Blender Girl (it's in her book The Blender Girl, not on her website). It is smooth, creamy and delicious, and she uses the strong cocoa flavor to add a cup of greens, a cup of cauliflower, and even some broccoli (I also like to throw in half an avocado). I highly recommend it!
    -"Orange Cream Smoothie" 1/2 cup milk, 1 orange, 1/3 banana, 1 - 1 1/2 inch slice fresh pineapple, 1/2 pear, 1 apple (cored), 1/2 carrot (or a few carrot sticks)
    -1 cup green grapes, 1/2 lemon (squeezed), slice honeydew, 1 orange, slice of pineapple, 1/3 banana, 1 apple, greens (1/2 - 1 cup), handful ice
